ZIAD GHANEM - READY-TO-WEAR - COLLECTIONS

Maiden Britain is Ziad Ghanem’s ready-to-wear junior line consisting of easy, wearable pieces infused with lashings of dark humour.

Inspired by the big, bad media and its global influence “Slaves & Instincts” plays on the gossip theme.

From Michael Jackson to Lady Di: Angel or devil, innocent or guilty – it’s all a game.

“An Ideal Husband” draws reference from a range of unexpected sources; from Aryan tribes to perfection and idealism.

3D paneled sections, sculptural shapes and patchwork effects all feature while prints take a subtle and muted route.

Celebrating life and death in all its glory, “Jackie” takes its name from a song by Jacques Brel.

From visions of paradise to icons from the past, Ziad takes on the controversial theme of death while maintaining a positive and upbeat slant.

“Paris, Texas” is all about contrasts and expression; most of the pieces are reversible, with one side more flamboyant in tone and graphics than the other.

Playing on the idea of assumption a traditional pinstripe design from afar, for example, reveals a series of naughty messages or lyrics close-up.
